This RE:CARE Project site serves as a public platform to share, and disseminate, research publication on essential care workers in Malaysia. Our goal is to promote informed public discourse, facilitate academic exchange, and support advocacy for recognition, valuation and strengthening care work and the care sector.


Privacy Policy

The RE:CARE Project is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement describes our policy with regards to the gathering and sharing of visitors’ information through the RE:CARE website, within the “recare.org.my” domain name. By visiting the RE:CARE website you agree to the practices described in this policy.

When you contact us through this website, we collect only the personal information necessary to respond to your enquiry or feedback. This may include your name, email address, and any additional details you voluntarily provide. 

We will use this information solely for communication related to your message and will not share it with third parties without your consent, unless required by law. Your data is stored securely and only accessible to authorised members of the RE:CARE team.

By submitting any form on our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and consent to the use of your information as described.

Information the website collects

Normal website usage

Visitors generally can browse the RE:CARE site without sharing any personal information or revealing details or who you are.  RE:CARE gathers information from general browsing from standard server logs.  Information such as your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, and information such as the files you downloaded, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits.

Collection of personally identifiable information

If you log on to the RE:CARE Project site, fill in your information, request information, download our reports and provide feedback, or join an electronic mailing list, you may be asked to provide personal information such as your name, postal address and e-mail address.  This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission, and is kept in the RE:CARE database. 

Web usage

Data collected during the general browsing of the domain “recare.org.my” is used to improve the site’s user experience and to track trends and usage of the site. Site usage is not linked with any personal information, should you however,  have registered, subscribed to or downloaded the RE:CARE Project report within the site, information that is collected will be on your email address which will be identifiable to you.

Personally identifiable information

RE:CARE may use the personal information you provide to:

  • Contact you – to keep you updated on the project by sending you documents, publications etc and respond to feedback or a query,
  • Undertake statistical analysis.

Non disclosure of personal information to RE:CARE

It is optional to provide personal information on the RE:CARE website. You can still browse and use the site without sharing your personal information.  

COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The website, services and all of our related products are subject to copyright. The material on the website is protected by copyright under the laws of Malaysia and through international treaties. Unless otherwise indicated, all rights (including copyright) in the site content and compilation of the website (including text, graphics, logos, button icons, video images, audio clips and software) (the ‘Content’) are owned or controlled for these purposes, and are reserved by us or our contributors.

We retain all rights, title and interest in and to the Website and all related content. Nothing you do on or in relation to the Website will transfer to you:

a) the business name, trading name, domain name, trade mark, industrial design, patent, registered design or copyright of RE:CARE Project; or 

b) the right to use or exploit a business name, trading name, domain name, trade mark or industrial design; or 

c) a system or process that is the subject of a patent, registered design or copyright (or an adaptation or modification of such a system or process).

You may not, without the prior written permission of us and the permission of any other relevant rights owners: broadcast, republish, up-load to a third party, transmit, post, distribute, show or play in public, adapt or change in any way the Content or third party content for any purpose. This prohibition does not extend to materials on the Website, which are freely available for re-use or are in the public domain.

Data Protection and Research Ethics

The RE:CARE Project uphold strict ethical standards in handling research data:

  • Personally identifiable information (PII) is anonymised before publication, unless consent has been explicitly obtained.
  • Users must not attempt to de-anonymise or misuse research data.

All data shared adheres to research ethics guidelines and national data protection laws in Malaysia.

PERMISSION AND PROHIBITION 

All materials on this website—including research papers, articles, data visualizations, multimedia, and other resources—are provided for educational, personal, or advocacy-related non-commercial use only. Users are allowed to a) download and share with proper attribution the content and research data, b) cite research publications with academic referencing, c) link accurately RE:CARE pages and resources

In addition to other prohibitions as set forth in the Terms of Service, you are prohibited from using the site or its content: 

(a) for any unlawful purpose including in commercial reuse, distribution or reproduction without written permission; 

(b) to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts; 

(c) to violate any international, federal, or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances; 

(d) to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others including the misrepresentation or distortion of the research content; 

(f) to submit false or misleading information; 

(g) to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the Service or of any related website, other websites, or the Internet; 

(h) to collect or track the personal information of others; (i) to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape; (j) for any obscene or unjust purpose; 

We reserve the right to terminate your use of the Service or any related website for violating any of the prohibited uses.

Gender Sensitivity and Community Standards

We are committed to gender equality, inclusivity, and respectful engagement. Users are expected to:

  • Use gender-sensitive and inclusive language in all interactions.
  • Avoid content or behavior that is sexist, homophobic, transphobic, racist, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory.

We reserve the right to remove any content and/or restrict access for violations.

Security

The RE:CARE Project does not engage in the selling and sharing of any personal data information on any platform – website and social media platforms.  Any information provided by users of the site is held with the utmost care and security by the RE:CARE Project, and will not be used in ways other than as set forth in this privacy policy, or in any site-specific policies, or in ways to which you have explicitly consented. 

The RE:CARE Project has security measures in place to protect the information maintained on our system from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

The RE:CARE Project however will not be responsible for the security of information.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

All content is provided “as is” for informational purposes. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of content.

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the site.

Notification of changes

We may update these Terms and the Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated “Effective Date.” Continued use of the website indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
